Certified and made-to-measure: Why individual comfort matters

March 15, 2026

Mask Logic has reached a defining moment in its journey. We recently achieved CE certification for our made-to-measure, half-mask respirator, IdealFIT 100. This certification confirms the IdealFIT 100 meets relevant EU safety, health and environmental standards and readiness for the UK and EU markets.

Certification is not simply a regulatory formality. It is an assurance that a product designed to protect workers in high-risk environments has been independently verified against recognised performance standards.

The significance of this milestone goes beyond compliance.

Existing half-mask respirators generally come in three sizes: small, medium and large. In practice, workforces, who use industrial respirator masks, are diverse and facial structures vary widely. The result can be pressure points around the nose and cheekbones, inconsistent sealing and discomfort during extended wear.

When a respirator is uncomfortable, users adjust it, loosen straps or remove it for relief. These routine ‘comfort breaks’ can compromise protection and undermine compliance. Over time, inadequate fit may contribute to increased exposure to airborne hazards, ill health and avoidable absence.

We founded Mask Logic to address this challenge directly. We use 3D scanning and 3D printing technology to create a respirator tailored to the individual. A simple face scan via a mobile phone app maps the wearer’s facial contours, allowing a made-to-measure nose bridge to be produced where leakage and discomfort most commonly occur.

Our guiding principle is clear: comfort and individual fit are essential to safety, not optional extras.

This approach aligns with the growing focus on inclusive PPE and employer duty of care. As standards evolve to encourage equipment that accommodates a diverse workforce, Health and Safety leaders are being asked to think more carefully about whether their current provision genuinely fits the people who rely on it.

For organisations reviewing respiratory protection needs in 2026, it may be time to ask a simple question: Does your current RPE get the best face fit scores possible for your workforce?

Let’s talk about how made-to-measure, half-mask respirators can get the best face fit possible for your employees.
